Faster than we slice a half pound of sturgeon, the year 5771 (aka 2011) is coming to a close. As the Jewish New Year approaches in just a few short weeks, we’re gearing up for a busy High Holiday season here at Russ & Daughters, while savoring a look back at another year, our 97th to be exact.
Over the past year we shared in the joy, and provided the nourishment, for many family gatherings, brises, baby namings, bar mitzvahs, and weddings. And, we were struck with sadness when we had to prepare shiva platters for those of our beloved customers and friends whom we lost. True to the circle of life, the Russ family looks forward to welcoming the 5th Generation of Russ & Daughters into the world. As I write this to you, I (Niki) am expecting my first child. Not to worry, she’s due after the High Holidays, I made sure of it.
We look forward to being there for you this holiday season. You will find our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur specialties below. If you want to place an advance order, please do so by calling us as soon as possible. We hate to say no and our pre-order space is limited.
We wish you a happy, sweet, and delicious New Year. May the tradition of Russ & Daughters continue for many more generations to come in our family and in yours.
