Herring: a reason for being pretty?

Neil LaBute’s Reason to Be Pretty opens on Broadway tonight.  Taylor Antrim interviewed Piper Perabo, for Men’s Vogue, about her long-awaited Broadway debut:

“With breezy sophistication, she offers critical assessments of the latest New York museum shows, the pace of gentrification on the Lower East Side, and where to get the best pickled herring in the city (Russ & Daughters).”

Friends of mine saw the play last week in previews, and in their glowing report back to me, wrote, “Perabo plays the pretty girl who is a security guard, so she’s in uniform throughout the show, thereby not focusing on the fact that she is SO GORGEOUS.” My friends liked the whole show so much that they have tickets to see it again tonight, for the official opening.  And one of them pointed out that Perabo first starred in a film titled  “Coyote Ugly.”

Herring are an impressively rich source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Consumption of omega-3s may reduce the risk of certain types of cancer, autoimmune disease, arthritis, and diabetes, and they may also aid in pain management, blood pressure regulation, and treatment of depression. Omega-3 fatty acids also keep our skin healthy, and our hair and nails strong. Pickled Herring as part of a beauty regimen? Sounds pretty good to me.
