Last winter, Martha Stewart and Martha Stewart Living editor Hannah Milman filmed a segment for The Martha Stewart Show at Russ & Daughters, and then Martha hosted Niki Russ Federman and Joshua Russ Tupper in the studio. Today, just in time for Chanukah, the show airs again; tune in to see our segment, and to hear talk about latkes too.
Both Martha and Hannah are long-time customers who come from families who have shopped here for more than one generation. Recently, Martha wrote about Russ & Daughters on her blog:
“One of my most favorite stores in New York City is Russ & Daughters, located on Houston Street in the wonderfully ethnic Lower East Side. … I have fond memories of shopping there when I was just a little girl along with my father. He loved their smoked white fish and my mother adored the creamed herring.
Today, Russ & Daughters is run by Niki Russ Federman and her cousin, Josh Russ Tupper – both 4th generation – that, in itself, is amazing! Over the years, very little has changed in the shop. It’s still bright, impeccably neat, and filled with beautiful and delicious products. And knowing that it’s also filled with plenty of history, makes this store a real gem.”
Watch the video of Martha’s visit to Russ & Daughters, and see Niki and Josh in the studio, on the show.
